New hello! project goodies!

Recently I seem to spending a little more than I should on h!p merchandise, but when you hear the postman knock its like Christmas all over again, and theres nothing like that warm fuzzy feeling of opening a new shiny package filled with idol goodness.
Here is a selection of goodies that recently came into my possession...

I was really looking forward to getting this as I enjoyed her first photobook so much, its just filled with cute and quirky Momo goodness!




Risako Sugaya's 3rd photobook 'Ring3 ~Rin Rin Rin'
I can't help but look through this photobook and be overwhelmed by Risako's beauty, can everyone remember when Aoki Sayaka from Music fighter said that she would feel worried about introducing Risako to her boyfriend? well I can totally empathize with the woman, Risako is gonna be a heart breaker when shes older, also she's just turned 14! happy birthday Socko!.




Morning Musume 2008 Taiwan concert t-shirt

A majority of h!p t-shirts tend to come in bright vibrant colours, so its good to see a shirt that I can roll with, yellow and pink shirts dont suit 'most' guys.
I'm confident most people will think this is a marilyn manson t-shirt ... but I'll be sure to correct the baka's.




Morning Musume Bon Kyu! Bomb t-shirt

Yes, I'm a fan of black clothing, so when I see black h!p clothing on sale I gotta catch em all!.
I do travel around the country a fair bit so I hope this t-shirt wont get me stopped at customs or security checkpoints, but with the current draconian 2001 terrorism act who knows? will I become a Wota martyr?

I've had this album on my hard drive since it came out so I thought it was about time I did the honorable thing and pick it up, I dont even need to talk about this album because even the most mild berryz fan knows this album is made from pure WIN.

Its taken me well over a month to finally get hold of this set, the girls of ongaku gatas dressed in maid outfits is not to be missed! ... I just love these photos.

C-ute 'Namida no Iro'

Last week I got hold of a poor quality radio rip of this song, although I was kinda drunk and half asleep while I listened to it, I can recall thinking one thing ... 'too much Airi'.
Now that I'm just about sober I can safely say I was right, this song essentially just features vocals from Yajima Maimi and Suzuki Airi, while the other girls do obviously feature at some point it's few and far between.
It goes without saying that Maimi and Airi do have brilliant vocal ability (Airi has improved alot lately) but it would be nice for a more equal spread, I can understand that Tsunku wants to promote the better singers, but it seems such a waste not to give the other girls more opportunity.
At first the actual song itself didnt really set my world on fire, its got a nice pace and interesting instrumental sounds, it seems to lack any particular hooks or catchy lyrics, but It's slowly growing on me, I can safely say I do enjoy the song but I doubt it will feature heavily on my music playlist.
When the video starts my first thoughts were 'what the hell are all those white shapes about?' ... but upon closer inspection the white shapes seem to represent a city scape, the mini white buildings are fairly pointless ... if the girls started to stomp on and destroy them Godzilla style ... that would of been brilliant, but no they dont.
Like the song, the PV fails to provide any visual hooks, apart from Maimi's absolute stunning beauty, the clothing the girls wear is a fairly toned down affair, Erika's hat is sassy, Nakajima's bobble hat is out of place, and Maimi's incredibly tiny shorts causes me to go into cardiac arrest.
There is one thing that does worry me about this PV, and thats the various shots of Maimi layed around looking animic, did the director want this type of shot?.
Although it might seem like I'm being fairly negative about this c-ute release I can assure you that I do enjoy it, they have done better ... but I'm happy about it.
Overall it makes me wonder what direction Tsunku is pushing these girls in, after their 3rd major single 'Tokaikko Junjou' I thought they were going to continue with the more mature sound and look ... but then 'Lalala Shiawase no Uta' came out and C-ute reverted back to girly pink bouncy mode .. and now we seemed to of jumped right back into the mature style again, I guess variety is the spice of life .. and if Maimi continues to wear short shorts I dont really care what direction they head into next.

Milky wahey!!

As I've previously mentioned, the two new faces from h!p eggs Kikkawa Yuu and Kitahara Sayaka are visualy enchanting, and this new video proves that they are very good at singing, while they may not share Koharu's brash and sometimes dorky style of singing their voices flow really well with Koharu's.
As this video appeared on 'Dohhh UP' I was eating food, this isnt a problem normally ... yet when the video started to play my eating speed started to match the speed of the rhythm, and within 3 minutes of the song finishing, my plate was empty and my belly now aches, so theres a tip... dont eat food and watch genki power pop, but I highly recommend drinking beer and watching power pop ...roll on the weekend.
Now the video has a great feel to it, the camera is constantly panning back and forth, side to side ... around and around and around ... it really adds to the spacey feel and leaves you feeling kinda dizzy.
The girls look really lovely, the outfits remind me a little of Koharu's from the 'happy' PV, yet these outfits are with extra frills and silk, the girls also sport a pretty neat headset that compliments the space theme.
The song itself is brilliant, it starts off with with bagpipes that blend into a fast paced beat, throughout the video the girls are banging away with their star shaped tamborines (I totally want one).
There are some great moments when the camera slowly pans around the girls looking down upon them and they either do a cute pose or just smile back, also keep your eyes open for their awesome 'can-can' style dancing ... this video really has everything.
I've yet to place an order for this single, but I'm totally on the way to do it now, and maybe pick up a star tamborine.
The video ends with a closing shot of Koharu doing a huge smile and giving us a double peace sign, this new unit is pure triumph and Koharu knows it.
